another weird g75vw sound system issue?

i have external speakers connected to g75vw via the "sound out" jack. as we know often one has to unplug/replug the connection or the sub-woofer kicks in and not the external speaker.

another issue arose today, i have one of my amps connected to the g75vw via USB to load jamtraks to the amp. so i go to play a video on the g75vw and the video sound gets played out the amp and not the connected external speakers. this doesn't happen if the amp is off, obviously.

is this by design or another weird g75vw sound system issue?

Have you upgraded your sound drivers?

Those are old now buddy, the latest ones are:

Via Audio Driver v6.0.01.10600a, which are found in the drivers section in this guide: ASUS G75VW Clean Install Guide

Make sure you uninstall the old drivers first, then restart, then run Driver Fusion v1.1.1 to clean out any left overs, then install the new drivers and reboot

i updated the drivers. system will still play to the amp if it is on and connected and not to the speakers attached to the "audio out" jack.

i thought a connection to the "audio out" jack would trump a usb connection when the system sound default are those speakers.

seems weird to me

i updated the drivers to *.10600a, still same issue. i just unplug the USB connection when not using the amp. if its connected like even movie play thru the amp and not the speakers. oh well. i never recall that happening on my IBM Thinkpad though.

thx
