after windows update today, g703gi temperature drops 20F when gaming!

after windows update today , the temperature drops like 20F. i dont have a before picture but my regular temperature was CPU 90F GPU 65F playing ghost recon wildlands, :cool::cool::cool:

Please add more technical details to your thread, leading on one app, one test alone isn't really something others can build trust upon.
which other games you tried have MEASURED changes ?
what is the windows update KB number ?
have you done stress-test and benchmarks ?

Seems possibly you had a rogue process that was causing excessive CPU usage. Maybe the Windows update disabled it or allowed it to idle into the background properly.

i guess, but was only when i played the games, on my regular use never happened

i have the g703gi-xs98k and i had that problem with all the games (witcher 3, ghost recon wildlands, vermintide 2, darksouls III. rainbow 6 siege), i read that the new alienware 17 have the same overheating problems and both laptops have the i9-8950HK. this is the update : Feature update to Windows 10, version 1803

Yeah if another manufacturer's machine with the same CPU had the same problem you may be onto something. Have you read what the update was supposed to do for that CPU?
