Advice on purchasing G703GI based on my most common tasks

I currently have a g752 I purchased in 2016. I am now looking to upgrade to the G703GI.

First on I liked is the G703GI-WS91K

The other I liked is the G703GI-XS98K.

Here is what I use it for.
Video editing in Adobe premiere
Photo editing in photoshop and lightroom
Android development in Android studio
Database processing in access (sometimes with millions of records)
Some gaming (battlefield, ark, division)

I'm thinking the XS98K would be better for gaming since it has the 144 refresh rate but gaming is not my top priority.
First question is this
Would the 4k be better for video editing but worse for gaming? If so would gaming be that bad on it or just not as good.?

Next question should be universal between the 2
Storage is very important to me. In my g752 I have a 1tb samsung 960 and a 1tb Samsung 970 (primary) and a 2tb Samsung Evo ssd. I use every bit of that space.

For what I'm doing how important is trying to utilize hyperdrive? From what I understand I have to have 2 Intel drives and a Samsung in raid 0 but really want to reuse my current Samsung drives and not sure I can afford 2 new Intel drives.

What I feel is best is to get this new pc with a 1tb 970 then put my 960 from my g752 in the secondary slot. No raid. Then use the 2tb ssd it comes with. Does that sound right? Am I sacrificing much performance by not utilizing hyperdrive?

I also thought I read somewhere that there is a 2tb cap on using hyperdrive. Is that true?

Last question is about the 3rd m.2 slot. Can I put a Samsung 960 in that slot? I thought I read somewhere that it is not Nvme compatible.

So after checking this link i feel the hyperdrive is just hype.

So if i go with a 1tb Samsung 970 and 1tb samsung 960 from my g752 secondary that should give me what i need.

But still have the questions regarding display and the 3rd m2 slot if anyone has any input.

3rd nvme can be Samsung EVO if you want to run it on its own. However if you want to use 3rd nvme in RAID0 with 1st and 2nd Intel 760p then the 3d nvme should be Samsung PM981 or PM961. Difference is in write speed.

Its plenty of power.

I still use my old G750JZ (specs in signature) for pretty much same things as you are.

Android Studio is as lag free as it comes, MySQL and NoSQL data in millions and 10s of millions edits are done within normal range and video/photo production is as fast as it gets.

The 4K display is definitely a must for photo/video production but your games will suffer since you will lose a lot on performance for little to no gain.

Also the battery is going to be dreadful on 4K display so pay that in mind.

I wouldn't worry about the storage really. While Raid 0 will be better than ordinary SATA speed I myself have Sata III and the speed is more than programs can handle anyway and things perform snappy.

Just make sure you have your Windows 10 properly adjusted and are careful with your resources.

Also very important for all laptops of this power.

You HAVE TO undervolt it if you want to get the max our of your processor.

They all throttle to cool down no matter what model or type it is, so if you want to get the nice power of your laptop make sure you undervolt it and maybe even underclock a bit.

Just for an example: 4700HQ that I have has 3.2 boost but it throttles almost asap in high scenario usage and gets 95°C easily. With a bit of undervolt and undervolt to 3.0 GHz I get the same score in Cinebench (700) with max T of 90°C. So just pay that in mind.

Also while we're on the topic of laptop gimmicks, I assume your laptop also has optimus. If some program or game does not work as it should make sure you're actually using the GPU Nvidia and no Intel as it sometimes switches incorrectly.
