the add to reputation button does not work on the forum,I have added to members reputation for giving good info and it never adds

I don't understand how the system works exactly, either. I've added to other people's rep and they've received it. However, when I get rep, my rep points don't change. As I understood it, the rep has to have a comment to count, but I have comments on mine and the rep coutner still doesn't move so... I'm at a loss.

Yeah seems to have broken a while back. I was getting one to one for a while (when I got a notice it would increment) I've also received at least 1/2 dozen positive rep comments since I've hit 18 and it hasn't moved. It does seam to work sometimes though, I've noticed other people's rep count move after giving rep, and then other times it doesn't...

*EDIT*

I just rep'ed you Edweird, looks like it took. Perhaps you need to be rep'ed by someone with a higher rep? Give it a try back if you would, just out of curiosity.

I did receive your rep comment, I assume it wasn't someone else's...

Anyone with higher rep than 18 want to join the thread and test this out? So I was able to rep Carnoustie just fine as well. I'm curious what happens when I try to rep at a higher level and vise versa to confirm the hypothesis.

Please add your name to the rep comment so it is easy to identify.

You can see your reputation by going to Settings 🙂
Also it temporarily adds this green tick thing that seems to go away afterwards. It's like it's trying to stack up like on other forum softwares but it fails here 😄

Ah hey I think I figured it out you need to have rep power when giving rep for it to up the persons count, so if someone reps you and they don't have rep power it doesn't add / subtract from the your Rep score.

See the image below, someone with power (green vs grey indicator) gave me rep then my count incremented. The rest of the rep didn't have any power so no addon to my score.

I guess the only unknown now is how you get power, perhaps a mod can chime in.
