751JY Finally Arrived in Thailand

Hey Guys,
Finally the 751JY has reached Thailand, I made a lucky call to one of the biggest retailers here in Bangkok and rushed in, sure enough they had TWO, one for display and ONE for sale, I grabbed it.
Specs for JY here are as follows: Intel 4870HQ
16 GB Ram
980m Graphics
1 256 ssd (PCEI) 1 2TB 7,200 spinner
Intel 7260 dual band wireless
BlueRay
Price 80,000 Baht ($2,500 US)
As a previous owner of a G750JX I had some goodies left over to put in the JY, off with the back and slotted in two more 8 GB ram modules, out with the PCEI card and bracket and in with a Samsung 850 pro without the bracket just a smidge of double sided tape ,back in with the Pcei drive, its under a wee bit of strain so gently filed some relief in the Samsungs chassis and fits great again with a little bit of double sided tape. Another left over pro in the 3 gb slot and left over caddy used to house the 2 TB spinner in the optical drive. A clean install of Windows 8.1 Pro and we are right to go.
Some comparisons between the jx and jy Speed 751 feels snappier and more crisp processor or Pcei drive I don't know
Screen IPS with 75htz is clearer and definitely more vibrant
Sound Hooked up digitally via toslink to 2.1 Edefier much better than JX
Graphics No comparison the 980 kills the 770 every game now looks totally different notice things I have never noticed before.
Looks I like the lid on the 751 but personally liked the austere but mean look of the 750.

Keyboard 750 layout much better, white lighting better than the red.key feel better on the 751.Palm rest much better on the 750,cool and felt solid, the 751 has a rubbery feel.

Now to sell the old faithful JX, I will keep you posted of any probs that arise but so far she is working just fine, A Beast indeed.

Looks great. I justed purchased the same model today. I'm kind of a noob to computers but trying to learn. What is the purpose of the SATA 3 and 2 SSD's? Do you need it to store lots of data?

Buckeye, main reason is because I had them left over after I put my 750JX back to original, with original ssd and operating system ready for sale. The SSd in the 6gbs slot stores games for quick load up,the second ssd in the 3 gbs has program files ,Office, Adobe, Cyberlink etc.I have an external Asus BlueRay writer, so slotted the spinner in the optical drive to store movie, photos and music libraries.I wanted to try and keep the m.sata drive for operating system only and keep it uncluttered.

JBM, I bought it at IT City Pantip Plaza, they only had two, one demo and one in the box and I grabbed that one, they have other stores around Bangkok one at FortuneTown who may have more stock. google ITCity Bangkok, they may have updated their website to include the JY ,they have the 970m spec for 59,000 baht. Comes with 2 years International warranty
