660m to 670mx swap in G75vw

So Dreamonic has been telling me to share this with you guys for quite some time now, so, here it is. I swapped out the 660m in my g75vw with a 670mx I bought on ebay. Boy was that a process. The guy hid that the heatpipes were damaged in his ebay pictures. I had to take the pipes off my 660m heatsink and resolder them to the 670mx heatplate to create a new sink. The results? Apparently a card with a heatsink that cools a little better than the stock one :cool: Pictures below of the card before and after.Worth every second put in to make this mod happen. The card is now voltmodded @ 1.1mv running a stable clock of 1176 mhz core and 2302 mhz memory. The swap was fairly easy, and should anyone be considering doing the like at any point I would be more than happy to help.

I know this is an old post. I want to do this to my still good running G75VW Can you help or tell me how to do the bios reflash for the Gpu?

basically, the vbios that is on g75vw contain vbios for 670m and 660m... so we replaced the one for 670m with 670mx

So can you give us the vbios for G75vw that it suits with 670MX 🙂

Is the 670mx still the latest and greatest for the g75vw? Does anyone know the heat sink part number that's needed? Or Cavan the 670m's heat sink be used?

I was wondering if anyone who has performed this swap has any information. I was unable to follow Dreamonic's guide because since this post Voltground has been pulled down. Anything would help.

but it is purhapse an issue with my chinese "new" graphic card

hi i just saw this post and im interested to find a heatsink for this gpu , i was unsucessful on google to find anythink its like heatsinks for 670mx dont exist ... can you suggest a place where i can find one ?
