Just out of the box my new G751JY i turn it on and benchmark the cpu right away and it goes from 40 to 96 as soon as i click bench....and starts thermal throttling..how annoying is this..3k laptop..ive had this issue with my other asus laptops too i always thought this was a bad paste..anyone know a fix for this? do they not put a thermal paste at all?

Since you just got it I would take it back send it back what ever, your notebook is defective.

sorry i forgot to screen shot , ive saved txt file on HWMonitor.... 59c on GPU , 99% stres, and cpu 83 was the max ...
room temp was 18c

Well that probably explains the relatively "low" temperatures. You need to stress it to 100%, so the GPU goes into "boost mode" and produces more heat. Then you will have the real picture. Still, I don't belive you will be going too much over 65°C, the GPU is great overall 🙂

No idea how is possible to get only 59°C on GPU during furmark. It is really hard to believe without screenshot. (Furmark+Prime95 together is the test you should be doing to check how hot your system can be).

Well it is common knowledge that syntetic benchmarks are not really the "real picture" in terms of CPU/GPU usage.
Many modders even directly dissuade people from doing syntethic benchmarks with software (like Prime95 for CPU, and Furmark forGPU), since they can burn your processors or reduce its lifespan overall in time.

The best way to test system temperatures is to use a "real world" test like a game that has both high CPU and GPU requirements (for example, recently I am testing the pre-alpha of Star Citizen 🙂 ).
If temperatures remain good and there is no trotteling, then you have nothing to be afraid of.
Othervise, send your laptop to RMA since it should keep temperatures down easily with the cooling system the g751 has.

P.S. if CPU is the main problem, use Intel Extreme Tuning Utility to reduce Core Voltage Offset and Cache Voltage Offset in order to achive less heat generated without loosing CPU power (my CPU runs great at -60mV, never had a problem, and temperatures are 5-8°C lower, newer exeding 80-85°C! 🙂

GPU 980m on the other side, is really cool, I never exeded 68°C even with a little overwolting (1.087) and 1300mHz. Really a great graphic card overall, with plenty of room for OC.

I get the same results as Imujaj, FurMark just doesn't heat the 980m up that much.
It really depends on the load, I guess.

I'm playing SOMA right now and the load hits 90% but temps don't go over 65...yet on Star Citizen, regularly go to at least 95% and that makes it hit 70. Then I play Witcher 3 and pray that it doesn't hit 88...

Furmark does stress the GPU but you need to use default settings (1280x720/AA off) to get max fps (more fps=more heat). Imujaj got 18fps with his settings and escha 96fps, so I guess this makes the difference.

Anyway, seems you guys won the 4860hq chip lottery, because your temps are really good, unfortunately I wasn't so lucky. Like I can't get under 90°C during these stress tests, always hovering at 90-95°C after few mins.

Gonna actually try NBFC again, because didn't try it after repasting, and maybe it will make some difference, since I see Imujaj is using it as well.

@Edweird Are you hitting 88°C on GPU or CPU during Witcher 3 ?

Edit. - Anyway these tests just confirm what I stated at the start to the OP. These processors can't handle the max utilization during these stress tests and throttle themselves down even when their temperature is fine.
