2 questions from a new ROGer :)

Hey guys!

I received my G750JS today and thus far I'm pretty satisfied with it. However, one thing I do not find satisfying at all is the sound. My Alienware 14 has much better sound quality! So my question is if the Harmon Kardon III soundsticks are compatible with the machine? I'm looking at the none Bluetooth version. Or if anyone else has any better recommendation up to the same price (£100) that are compatible then that would be super!

One last thing, on the GPUTweak application, when I open it I get a 'currently running on Intel GPU' message at the bottom. Does anyone know how I can change this to the GTX 870M GPU?

Many thanks in advance!

Yes, they're compatible. It's a standard 3.5mm jack on the Soundsticks iii (non-wireless). You can connect them to your earphone port. 🙂 They're good speakers from what I've read, also. If you can go any higher, I hear even better things about the AudioEngine A2+ speakers.

That message is due to Optimus. This isn't something you can get around; the laptop defaults to using the Intel CPU for it's graphics output in Windows, and any external monitors you connect would run off of the Intel chip as well (they're hard wired to it). The NVidia GPU kicks in on programs that you specify.

Hopefully that helps!

You can actually open Nvidia control panel and set the default gpu to the 870m, instead of automatic selection, this fixed my issues with displaying temps running MSI Afterburner.
in the nvidia control panel to use preferred graphic processor to "High Performance NVIDIA processor" under the Manage 3D settings tab.
Once you change settings in the nvidia control panel you will need to do a restart for the settings to take effect.
