120hz monitor problem

Hello! First of all my specs its an asus 531gt laptop my specs are:

• i5-9300h
  
• gtx1650
  
• 16gb ram
  
• 1000gb ssd
  
• windows 10 home 64bit
  
• 120hz monitor
  

Okay so my main problem is that if i play a game for example warframe and my fps drops from 120 to even 90 or below it starts to feel like im plying on 30 fps. If i cap my fps to 60 its like 30. I have made a custom profile for my monitor (60hz) it feels choppy as well. I would need a solution where if my framerate drops below 120 fps at games it would remain smooth or if i could cap my fps and hz to 60 while it remains smooth( and wouldnt feel like im playing on 30 fps). Of course i doesnt experience it with games such as league where i have stable 200+ fps. Please help thanks

I believe the i5 processor model has only a 60Hz screen.

Please provide your entire model name to confirm.

Run dxdiag.exe, look at the display tab, current display mode:

I just checked it it doesnt let me upload image but i have 120hz display. The problem is with that when my fps doesnt hit 120 or above it starts to feel laggy and awful.60 fps should be smooth but it feels awfully laggy(like im playing on 30fps) if i see it on this monitor of my laptop.

If you feel its the display, hook your laptop up to another display via HDMI and play on that. If you experience the same slow down or "lag" on a completely different display, then you know it has nothing to do with the 120Hz display.

I have a feeling the "lag" you speak of has to do with your system as a whole. A GTX 1650 is the replacement for the GTX 1050. You shouldn't expect exceptional performance with that setup. I dont think your GPU is up to the task of high FPS in a modern game.

It might also be worth running Furmark and see if you're experiencing maybe throttling as well.

g531gt-al106 but plus 8 gb of ram and 1000gb ssd
