1.35V memory required in G751/G771/G551s (same as G750)

Please note we fit 1.35V memory into the G751s (and G750s). Haswell CPUs require this and using 1.5V memory can sometimes cause problems along the lines of:
> Overheating
> Damage to the CPU IMC (due to the increased potential difference)
> Greater battery use than our stated values.

And I will look for it, and we can delete these posts here so as to not clutter up the G751 section...also the advice for that model is different than the G750, which is different than the G751.

Read up on the G55 memory sticky as there are likely helpful details there specifically for your model(s).

Just bought G551JM this week, they added 1 slot of ram 4 GB. Original ram is in slot #3.

Mine (G751JY-DH71) came with the RAM outlined in the attached image. Found the exact same stick on eBay - 2 more still available at this link:

Are you running dual-channel now? (Check memory tab)

So now you have 1 memory inside the chassi? and you added one under the plate?

My model comes with 24GB (outlined in my post) - so I'll just be adding this stick underneath once I receive it. Probably will be on Friday.

Guys, from sk3tch's photo, it almost looks like a thin SSD could fit under the M.2 PCIE SSD - if you went without the M.2 PCIE bracket and without an SSD caddy... has anyone tried?

Those bumps on the bracket raising the M.2 SSD give the impression there is room to work with... maybe not enough though.

Good thought - maybe start a new thread for visibility? I'd be willing to try. I have Samsung 850 Pro and Samsung 830 SSDs here in other machines. The whole "right drive slot is limited to SATA2"-thing is a bummer...but I always figured there was something that could be kludged in slot 1 (at a min.).

So in this picture, do you have 2 slots on the place we are looking at ? or is it 3 slots ? you can add a memory stick to there without opening the keyboard ?

Greetings gents.

I've been silently stalking this thread on information on the inner workings of upgrading the DDR3L on my G751JM. After reading here a bit, I need clarification on how the layout actually exists on the G751's.

Case in point, here's the HWInfo and the CPU-Z information in tandem of my system. You'll notice how the HWinfo claims ram slots #1 and #3 are being utilized, whereas the CPU-Z diagnostics claim it is slots #2 and #4. FWIW, I seem to be running 2x 4Gb (8Gb total,) of DDR3L in the non-user accessible area. Any clarification anyone would be happy to give me on how come I am seeing this discrepancy? Or am I reading to much into this? It is my end goal to upgrade all four SODIMMs' here in the near future (someone recommended G-Skillz RIpjaws earlier...) but if not, I want to make sure I leave myself a viable option in the user accessible area and that they all jive.
