Issues with Satechi USB4 Multiport Adapter on ASUS ROG Flow X16
Hi,
I recently bought the Satechi USB4 Multiport Adapter W/ 2.5G Ethernet . I’m using it with two ASUS laptops that support Thunderbolt 4, but it only works reliably on one of them.
ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED UX3402VA – Works perfectly.
ASUS ROG Flow X16 GV60 – Not detected by Windows or works intermittently.
✔ Tried both USB-C/TB4 ports on the X16.
✔ Restarted the laptop, performed a clean Windows startup.
✔ Updated Windows (Windows 11 fully up to date).
✔ Reinstalled USB 3.0, USB 4.0 root drivers, and Intel Serial IO chipset driver (V30.100.2221.20, 2022/10/18).
✔ Updated BIOS
Symptoms on X16:
The hub appears in Device Manager under a generic name, while on the Zenbook, it’s correctly recognized as "Satechi."
LED behavior: Blinking on X16, solid on Zenbook.
Connected devices (SSD, USB flash drive, Ethernet, HDMI) are mostly unrecognized.
After many attempts, I managed to get Ethernet, the audio card, and one USB-A port working once on the X16, but USB-C ports and HDMI never worked.
After unplugging and reconnecting, the hub stopped working again. It only functions sporadically (roughly 1 in 40 attempts).
I need reliable connectivity, mobility, and performance—this hub meets those requirements but is unusable on the X16, which is a major issue for me.
Any suggestions?
