I've bought 3 of these machines over the last 2 months and I've had nothing but problems with them.
The first machine I bought had very loud coil whine, so loud I could hear it from across my office and it sounded like there was a bee in my computer.
After a few days the screen also started to glitch out and would need to be force restarted, this happened every few days, at least twice a week and happened in browser, in game, or even when just idle on the desktop.
After spending 6 weeks going back and forth with Asus's lack of support, they finally agreed to let me return the defective machine for a refund and I bought Flow #2
Flow #2 was dead on arrival.
The first time I tried to boot it, it made this horrible crunching sound and then would get stuck at the logo screen.
I couldn't get to bios, I couldn't get it to boot off an external drive, it was completely dead.
All it would do is sit at the logo screen for 20-30 mins before shutting down.
Flow #2 was exchanged for Flow #3
Flow #3 arrived a few days ago and I've been testing it over the weekend only for this to happen again
I've tried multiple browsers, every combination of power settings, undervolting, power limiting, different power plans, custom power plans and nothing seems to work.
When plugged in on silent mode without any plan modifications or ghelper edit, there's a loud static sound coming from the laptop and videos are slow to load, load in lower resolution and are choppy.
When I unplug the laptop and keep the exact same power settings, the buzzing goes away and the videos load with 0 issues.
I've tried using the included charger, the charger for my zepherus, a 140W USB C charger and a 120W USB C charger. All chargers have this issue.
Using Ghelper I can limit the power to 15W, undervolt to -20 and disable CPU boost to stop the buzzing, but then videos only play when unplugged (under the same power conditions)
I want to love this laptop, I love the design, the portability and the features but either I got seriously unlucky receiving 3 defective devices back to back, there's something I'm using that's causing issues, or this laptop just has so many problems.
For anyone else with this laptop, have you ever experienced screen glitching/tearing like this?
Do you have very loud coil whine? The kind that would make you not want to use your laptop in a library or a quiet room?
Does YouTube seem to load just fine on silent mode when plugged in?
All drivers are up to date, bios was updated through the bios, windows is updated.
