Asus released a new BIOS version 306 yesterday. Anybody had any issues after updating?
I updated the bios with the windows setup exe. file and it went smoothly, however I saw some weird text at some point...I think it was "SUN" and "MON" before the update started...but it went quickly and without my intervention. Checking in device manager the version in now 306 and without any issues.
Anybody experience something similar?

I understand your frustration! Sorry to hear about your bad experience.
However all PC manufacturers do the same, if you buy from the official manufacturer store I believe there is not a possibility to return the product and get a brand new sealed replacement. Hence I will always buy from official retailers that offer a 30 day money back guarantee and no questions asked.
I do this because I'm not going to be a so called BETA tester for these PC manufacturers. The laptop should work properly out of the box without any defects. Also the initial setup should be easy, smooth and fast enough. So far based on several decades of experience, ASUS and MSI have the best laptops in my experience.
But if you can, try to avoid becoming a "tester" for these PC manufacturers, and instead buy the laptop from reputable retailers who offer a cooling off period so that you can cancel the deal if the product is faulty.
Nowadays myself I don't waste any time on any defective laptop, it goes straight back to the seller if it's defective.
My current Z13 (2023 model) seems to be a keeper, fast and efficient and the battery life is clearly better than I expected. I have used it now for approx. 3 days and all is well. A few more tests (for instance the 3DMark stress test and then I can conlcude that I will keep it).
My advice is to try to speak to a superior at Asus and see if he can help you. I hope you get help quickly.

UPDATE ON BRICKE BIOS REPAIR: Problem was resolved by asus repair team. Incase someone needs to know they gave me a bit more details: If your gpu drivers (in ultimate mode Iassume) are updating and do a restart to bios for a bios update without completion A conflict can occur where there will be no display device at all and the system will simply not boot to anything. Basically it seems the safest way is to make sure you are using the Intel Gpu when performing a bios update. I mite get my device today.

so what did they do? Change the motherboard?

Probably a EC reset (hard reset)

The explanation from the "Asus repair team" seems a bit dubious. This problem have happened on new machines that are being setup for the first time and that's when the issues happened. However there's one solution that is often overlooked and that is to perform an EC reset or hard reset. This helps most of the times: the link to official ASUS support: https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1050239/

Bug that would be exactly what I suggested you before.. disconnecting everything and holding the power button for at least 40sec

No not an ec reset I tried that myself several times. They plugged in a specific debug tool that they have and flashed the chip. He did not open the tablet at all. It was performed in their office. The laptop was fully dead. They apperently have a tool to flash dead bios without opening the device. They could not replace the motherboard as the acronym mb was not currently in stock.

Thank you for bricking my tablet again. Im sick of this. I woke up today and magically the system had been bios updated via windows. Spec 3 hours trying to get it to boot. Nothing Had to make usb flash drive and reinstall the godame bios holding f2. Seriosuly what is wrong with your cocmpany in taiwan? What exactly are you guy doing there why not fire some people. Your bricking motherboards laptops. STOP UPDATING MY TABLET. Nobody wants windows to update their bios. Now Im going to deal with this sht slowing down throttling the pc for the next 5 years.

Pretty weird that it happened after "They plugged in a specific debug tool that they have and flashed the chip. "
I would also hold their office responsible in my opinion they should have updated the BIOS during the visit to the "office".
