Hello,
I found that the latest armoury crate has issue maintaining the Nvidia GPU in power save mode when GPU Optimized setting is selected.
What is happening is that the discrete GPU is unable to go to power save mode in stable fashion, it is always intermittent now and the Nvidia monitor show None application using it.
Sadly this hidden service/process make the CPU working more than it should and go high in temps ~65 when should be ~36 degrees, the CPU fun running at ~5000 when should be 3200 when idle, this was not happening at all before. I am searching for the service that is causing the problem but it will take me time that I will like not to use to fix this.
I am already found that the ordering the AsusOptimization service start could make the KB light go off, forcing me to restart the service to get the keyboard lit again, at least that is an "easy" fix compared to a hard reset.
Could someone take look at this please. I have all up to date and i am not using any driver not provided by asus nor any weird configuration this is stock up to date Win 11 setting.
While some will point to use g-helper I would like to avoid this.

Ok found the issue..it is Aura wallpaper...took me sometime to found out, I disable it and all seems fine now ... I will check how I got it working in the past. My temps went back to ~36 in idle and the power saving is stable 🙂

Sadly I found that if I left NVidia Control Panel in Image setting preview the GPU is in 2% and the overall temp is ~46 degrees steady when idle ..better than the ~55, so the power saving mode is not doing well 😕. Can someone check Armoury Crate don't ping the GPU every 5 seconds?

I tried to check how the modes affect the temperature on my ROG Flow Z13 2022. With the ROG XG Mobile connected, the temperature is approximately the same in idle mode, moreover, it does not change even when selecting the Windows mode in which maximum energy saving is enabled (screenshots 01 and 02). CPU temperature 41-44, GPU temperature 49-50 (RTX 3080).
I disconnected the ROG XG Mobile and got approximately the same picture in turbo mode, as in Windows in idle mode, CPU temperature 44-49, GPU temperature 48-50 (screenshots 03 and 04).
Either I have different hardware or the problem described cannot be reproduced. Or I'm doing something wrong.

Hey thanks for answer : ), sadly for me it is not the case anymore with the last update, (I tried to attach a video) I only get good temps now if I get running something in the GPU, if not the "power saving" is jumping on/off making the CPU go up 😕 something that before was steady like your pictures 3rd/4th... I didn't update anything else so for me it is strange. Could be that is something happening only with the flow x13 2023 RTX 4060.
In any case good to know that in some cases it is working well, do you have GPU drivers from nvidia or the one provided by Asus ? ,my case is 555.97
