I’ve encountered a problem with my Asus Flow Z13 ACRONYM 2023 and XG MOBILE 4090 combo.
The XG MOBILE fan at full load doesn’t work as supposed to and eventually lead to reaching the thermal limit of 87c and then thermal throttle leading to a performance cut when gaming.
But after trying and finding a solution of why this happened (nothing online solved the problem) I found a reliable solution for my setup that maybe could help others with this situation.
I thought that I needed to repaste the GPU but in the end the overheating was a related problem of the Fan. So, for me and what I’ve found is that when you turn on the computer with the cable of the XG MOBILE connected to the Z13 it doesn’t matter what I do I couldn’t assign a custom fan curve for the XG MOBILE to sustain the workload (with the default fan curve that turbo mode assign to the XG MOBILE in my case was impossible to sustain the performance).
What you have to do is: Turn the Z13 without power source connected to the tablet, then initiate windows as normal, then connect the XG MOBILE, I use GHelper for control everything in my Z13 so assign in GHelper turbo mode with the custom fan curve that you created for the XG MOBILE and finally when the graphics are activate restart you computer. And solved! For me was the first time that the XG MOBILE sustained the workload (even with overlocking, it reached a max temp of 78c when gaming).
