Hi,
i just noticed that my Flow z13 Battery started to wear since 2 Weeks. It dropped since then about 6%. The Battery is now at 94% of its original designed capacity.
i got the Flow z13 in march this year, so its 4 months in use. I mainly have it connected to the ac power since its my desktop replacement and had it bearly on Battery… i mean at this rate it should be at 80% in 5-6 weeks. Is it just me or is this really a bit too fast. My iPhone is close to 2 years old with 400 charging cycles and still has 92%

Hello,
I've had it for two weeks and I'm very disappointed with the lack of battery bypass while powering over PD - the way it works, with allowing the battery to drop by 1% and then topping it up will surely be a killer.
Are you using the proprietary 200W brick or some PD charger?

Hi, i am using a tb4/usb4 docking Station while stationary. I didnt know that PD works Like that on this Laptop… This explains a lot and will be surely kill the Battery very quickly. In germany wie have a pretty good warranty and loosing 10% or more in half a year is quite a good reason for a warranty case.

That's exactly the way I'm using most of my other modern devices... On the first day after unboxing I was configuring stuff and I noticed that my PD cable equipped with a little power consumption display periodically circulates between 1W (which is basically a passive connection value) and some rather high numbers. Windows also shows that the device's charge drops to 79 and then returns to 80, which I set as a charging limit. It's a huge disappointment, Asus doesn't mention a limited PD support anywhere and the top consumption of this APU potentially exceeding 100W is in my opinion no reason for doing some weird limitation of this kind but rather for implementing PD 3.1 which would allow for charging with 140W USB-C bricks...

So do you know what happens if you plugin the original ac Adapter while using the usb c connection with PD? Is this a workaround for our Problem? I mean its pretty anoying but better than a killed Battery…

The DC adapter by itself works with battery bypass and I think Z13 prioritizes it. So that is some solution.
On the other hand, my main usecase for this device limits me to charging it with a provided 100W PD cable - no spare power socket available.
Somehow the device like Asus PX13 with dedicated NVIDIA GPU allows for PD charging with battery bypass, only limiting the top power profile to the same 200W proprietary charger...

There're many applications that extract the wear level info from the device, for example G-Helper displays it if you click on the charge info in the bottom right corner of its main window.
That's the problem we're talking about here - direct powering of the device (battery bypass) only works with the chargers connected via the charging port. In the meantime I actually received the confirmation from ASUS support that PD only tops the battery up, that "it's normal" and that if my battery dies within the warranty period they will replace it. 😒
