Flow X13 Review & Suggestions

Hi,

Here is my BestBuy review of the Flow X13; TL;DR native HDR on Flow X13 next year please (or can a software update do it?)

Most of my other problems with the device are rather minor/hard to fix, louder speakers for sure though

higher VRAM GPU (without eGPU), probably upto Nvidia but otherwise 4080 option?
2280 SSD if possible
a way to disable or adjust the rotation disabling the trackpad / keyboard as mentioned
some <165Hz mode (i.e. 82.5Hz? so I can keep it the same on battery and plugged without the black flash. I feel like I saw the 82.5Hz somewhere but I could be wrong)
brighter display (or just more antireflective, I don't want a miniLED/OLED if it harms battery, but I really would like as bright as possible)
less fingerprint/smudge-y material

Eventually USB4 v2 / TB5

Also I know it's only seen in business laptops but I would really like WWAN / 5G

AMD 3D vCache CPU (if a 8-12 core SKU exists) would improve efficiency, assuming there would be a way to have the cache sleep when not needed.

A 165Hz display could make more sense (outside of esport titles) if you could get multiple frame generation methods working together i.e. AFMF + DLSS3

What is Undervolting and Thermal mods?
I am interested in knowing more on this and how to do that.

Btw your review is on point!

since the bottom plate is metal you can use thermal pads to tie it in to create a larger thermal mass but be carful this can get hot enough to burn you, I've seen people do this with Peltier coolers for like tablets and phones with great success 10-20 degrees better.

under volting is the practice of running your cpu at the same clock while giving it less power commonly done via linux or various windows utilities.

more of a joke to end my piece but LTT recently decimated a asus strix laptop to water cool it by attaching water pipes to the heat pipes it was painful to watch but it worked in the end.

also, as far as the X13 goes they need to just swap over to a big vapor chamber like the z13, it would a lot for way better performance and then you could step up power draw with 180watts over USBC or even 240w but idk where you would fit the voltage stepping hardware. or even better use the new slim power adapter they just came out with for the g14 to give up to 300+ watts of power in a 13in form factor. if they really wanted to full send this thing they could and it would be comical, show up to the LAN party with a 13in laptop and outperform everyone's portable desktops.

speaking on specs for this year I hope to continue to see amd in the x13, return to the x16 and be brought to the z13, this would make for great power efficiency on the go and boast great performance when you want/need it. i want to see more on the xg mobile side give us more of a selection, the 4090 is way too expensive and i could accomplish more with a 4080 or even a 4070 ti, as far as the internal gpu on the devices maybe offer the super variants or some Radion cards but we don't really need much improvement here.

last but not least give us an upgrade route like let me buy a new motherboard for my x16, I don't need a new frame and all I just need a new board when it comes time to upgrade, take the farmwork approach.
