I have a problem with external had drives, W10 event viewer reports event ID 154, device failed due to hardware error, every minute. The HD is ok, I've checked it every possible way. This has happened with different hard drives at times.
MyAsus app reports there may be a problem with the battery. This is a desktop. I found some strange posts stating it may be a CMOS problem. I removed the CMOS battery for a minute which cleared the BIOS. No change.
I have no trouble reading/writing the hard drive, just the 154 events every minute. Can anyone help?
