How to Enable G20CI Wake on Lan ? [solved]

Hello

I have a ROG G20CI and I'm trying to setup WOL but i can't get it to work.

While my computer was powered on i tested that i would receive the packet using a tool.
But while turned off nothing happens.

My guess is that it's a bios setting so i looked around the bios for either a WOL setting for the adapter og Power on by PCIe but i could find neither.
So the question is how do i enable WOL?

Regards
Kenneth

https://www.groovypost.com/howto/enable-wake-on-lan-windows-10/

follow this guide works for me internal perfect, i cannot WOL outside home network as my router not supported
virgin super hub 3.0, to use external see if router can be updated with dd-wrt firmware as this supports WOL 🙂

After a lot og digging and trial and error i finally figured it out.

It turns out that the default in UEFI settings is to enable ErP in S5 state.
To enable WOL and similar wake features one needs to disable ErP.
Doing so reveals some new settings that is otherwise hidden which allows you to enable Power on by PCI-E.

Furthermore in Windows 10 i also had to disable FAS start-up which you can find under Control Panel >> Power Options >> Choose what the power buttons do (on the left)

After that all you need is adapter settings that is described in the various guides.
Thats it, you should be home free and master of the WOL 😄

I hope this helps someone else who is stuck where i was.
