BluRay Playback SW windows 10

Dear all,

I've only recently bought a G20AJ and am so far quite happy with the system.
There is however one glitch - when using windows 8.1 there was some preinstalled playback Software for DVD/BluRay from ASUS.
After the update however that is gone and no viable replacement is avaulable.

Can somebody share their experiences? What did you do?

Did u do a Windows Search to see if Asus DVD player was still installed? try that first.
maybe someone here in the forum can send u the player files from their G20. Asus DVD will work on W10 if u have the files

I upgraded my Win 8.1 G20AJ to Win10 on day one and never say a DVD player on it, I may need to review the drive I pulled for DVD software

Microsoft want u to buy their DVD player software from the Microsoft store, reviews have been its a terrible player and no bluray playback as microsoft do not want to pay for blueray codecs
VCL player should work

Hi,

thanks for the comments - two items however:

VLC and BluRays don't really mix due to encrypted DRM - so I am basically stuck with commercial SW right now.
Problem however is 3D playback. I tried PowerDVD trial but have never gotten the BD to play back 3D content. GUI is in 3D however. Does anybody have similar experiences?

I tried to playback 3D movie with the latest version of Cyber link 15 but my monitor does not support 3D , but I have a ? for u does Auto Play work on your G20AJ in W10

If you don't have a 3D monitor nothing will show 3D.

yes I know 3D will not work on my monitor ,but thought id try lol , With W10 my Auto Play has disappeared , simply Auto Play Does not work for me in W10 and I m having a hard time as to why . i have to manually play or install software with my BD Drive
