Asus G11CD-B13 Freezing Issue?

Hey guys. I bought my girlfriend an ASUS computer about a month and a half ago and it seems to have a constant freezing problem while playing games or streaming. Completely locks up and has to be shut off by power button. I found a error in Event Viewer that seems to match up with all the times it freezes (Event ID 56 Applicatiob Popup Error) . Not sure if that is relevant or not.*

Also, while playing games the CPU utilization sits around 85-100% even when the graphic settings of the game are set to lowest. CPU temps never go above 120 though. The computer has a i5 6600 @ 2.7 GHz and is always running at 3.08 GHz while playing games, in comparison her laptop which has a i7 5500U runs the same game at 40% utilization (not a gaming laptop at all).

I took it to best buy and they said the nvidia graphics drivers werent even installed and we installed them but still the same issue.

Where do I start? What do I do? Is the computer faulty? I'm taking it back this Saturday to have it looked at again, but in the mean time I want to know what the issue is and if its a quick fix or not. *

By 120 degrees you mean fahrenheit right? If that's the case, try to see if there is a newer BIOS that you could update to.

Please make sure that all the relevant drivers and updates are installed.

Please make sure the BIOS is the latest version.

Please let us know if this doesn't solve anything

I'm probably going to do a factory reset on the computer. I've gone to device manager and looked through everything for drivers to update and found some but still same issue. The only thing I haven't done is updated the latest BIOS because I'm not quite sure how to do that.*

I also want to know, if the drivers or BIOS isn't the most up to date, why would it cause the freezing? I've never used a computer where I had to constantly check for updates and if not the computer will freeze and become unusable? *

I reset the PC. The same game is now running at 40-50% CPU at same graphics. But the PC still froze.*

Looks like i'll be sending it to ASUS. Just a faulty computer I guess.

Could well be a faulty graphics card or a corrupted windows installation
