【Fun Fact】How to Disable Notifications on Your Screen

BigBunny

Some notifications are rarely seen but are important when they appear.

Some notifications you see daily, but you might not understand their content.

Today, I'll share some notifications that I think are fine to turn off without any issues.

Display Notification Icons

Do you know what the "notification icons" are?

↪︎ They are the small icons on the top left corner of the screen, to the right of the time.

You might see these icons and not think they are important, or you might not even understand what they represent.

No worries, you don’t need to understand them. These icons appear in the notification list when you swipe down from the top of the screen. Turning them off usually isn’t a big deal. Here’s how to do it:

Settings => Apps & notifications => Notifications => Display notification icons

↪︎ The default option might be "Show the last three notifications". Change it to "Do not show notifications" and you’ll notice the area to the right of the time is cleaner.

Notifications on the Lock Screen

The content of notifications on the lock screen is the same as the notifications that appear when you swipe down from the top of the screen. If you don't want your lock screen to look too cluttered, you can change the option to "Don’t show any notifications".

Be aware that turning off this option will disable some functions that can be operated from the lock screen, such as the "recording" feature.

However, the playback options for YouTube won’t be affected.

App Notifications

Under "Notifications management" in "App notifications", you can adjust the notifications for different apps.

After entering this section, change the top left option from "Recent" to "All apps" to see all the apps on your phone that send notifications.

I personally suggest turning off notifications for "Google Play services" and "Google Play Store".

Notification Dots on App Icons

This option is at the bottom under the "General" tab. If you find the notification dots on the app icons annoying, you can turn this off as well.

Notifications are mainly helpful, but if they become too cluttered, over time you might stop caring about them altogether. Feel free to adjust your notification settings to keep only the notifications you find truly important.
