YouTube Out of Sync

Wenderu

Is anyone else getting YouTube videos out of sync? This doesn't happen always but most of the time. The video is slightly ahead of the audio. Please help.

Hey Wenderu, could you share a bit more detail about this?

  • Does anything seem to trigger this delay, or is it seemingly random?
  • Does it happen in all browsers?
  • Does reloading the page or restarting the browser help?
  • What kind of audio device are you using (Speakers, headphones, BT, usb audio, etc)
  • Any specific troubleshooting steps you've tried already?

It happens on all browsers. It is connected to my Samsung TV audio. If I unplug the HDMI and plug it back in then it fixes the problem. Until it randomly starts happening again.

Any chance you have another HDMI device you can use to test on to see if this happens on other devices?

Does the audio delay happen on everything else too? Games, other streaming services, etc.

I think it happens on games too. It is just more noticeable with YouTube. I do not have another HDMI device to test with. Are you thinking it might be my television?

Definitely understand not having another HDMI device to test with. It's hard to say for sure if the TV is contributing to it, but if you did have another device we might be able to get an idea of if it is or not!

For HDMI output, what kind of output settings are you using? (resolution, refresh rate, etc.)

And one more thing: what kind of HDMI cable are you using? (Rated for HDMI2.0, 2.1?)

Sorry for all the questions--just trying to narrow down possible culprits!

1080p 60 hz. Using a standard 5m HDMI cable plugged into a dock. I don't know what rating it is but maybe it isn't that high since it is 5m. Sorry if my answers suck but I don't see any identifiable information on the HDMI cable.

No worries! I don't think any of my HDMI cables have any kind of info on them either! 🤣

If possible, could you try using a different cable just in case?

Just a quick check, but what dock/adapter are you using to connect the Ally to your TV?

It happens so rarely it is hard to test. And unplugging the power and plugging it back in again fixes it. So I will just do that. I have a generic dock but it was made for the ROG Ally.
