[ROG Ally] Don’t update BIOS to 330 and 331. Issue - Sounds similar to electricity.

After updating to BIOS 330, I began to hear sounds similar to electricity.

It looks like the sound source is somewhere near the fans.

I’m not sure if this is exactly related to the BIOS update, perhaps it’s a technical defect.

Has anyone encountered such a problem? How to fix it?

I just rolled back the bios to version 323 and that solved the problem.

I'm having the same issue since I received mine from SAT (motherboard replaced because the SD fault).

It's something really annoying.

Hi,

Mine is making the same noise. It was quiet at first, but now it is getting louder. And it keeps making that noise even when the fans are off.

Yes, same issue

Hello, i have contacted ASUS yes you are right after BIOS 330 it has caused coil whine on our ROG ally, this new bios is terrible needs to be purged.

that is, we need to wait for a new BIOS or roll back this one

Thank you for the update.

The question now is: is it safe to keep using it in that state? I usually hear that noise before shortcuts!

Hi,

Just for the information, I just tried bios 331 but i'm rolling back again to bios 323.

This static sound is clearly bios related.

Why did I test it? I thought maybe it was because of a modification I could have made. The only I did was extanding the VRR range of the screen from 48-120 to 30-120.

I set it back to the default range abd updated the bios.

That did solve the problem obviously. In fact the static was then continuous.

Too bad and that's frustrating.

Edit: typo

That did NOT solve the problem obviously. In fact the static was then continuous.
