Problems after Windows Update

Hi, after the latest Windows update on the ASUS ROG Ally, I started having issues with game performance, and the frame rate dropped. I’d also like to point out that the device is brand new, practically unused; it’s been played on for maybe a maximum of five hours. And yesterday, when I turned on the console, there were strange lines on the startup screen, as if there was a graphics card error. I got scared, turned it off, and then turned it back on, and it started up normally. In my opinion, it’s probably the drivers causing it, I hope. And my question is: when you put your ear close to the console, do you hear any tiny sounds, like the disk spinning, or is it completely silent? I’m not sure if that’s normal or if I’m just being overly sensitive.

Thank You so much for help ❤️

There is no spinning disk in the ASUS Rog Ally, it's an NVME.  What you are probably hearing is the fan.

Does anyone know what this problem could be? The device is practically brand new, maybe played on five times. After the latest update—whether it was the graphics driver, I’m not sure—when I turn on the console, something like this appears. I don’t know what it is, and it scared me. I uninstalled the new driver and installed the old one, but I still don’t know if this is a hardware problem or maybe a driver issue. Has anyone experienced something similar? Because I don’t know whether to send it in for warranty service. Any info would be appreciated.

You need to push and hold the power button for 30 seconds.

Then try power it up normally....

The lights around the joycons show that its powered up.

I had the same issue with the same exact glitched out start up screen. After a restart it hasn't done it again (so far). I saw several people online having the same issue so hopefully it's something that can be fixed via update.

I've also seen quite a few post about other things that broke with the last update like Bluetooth not working as intended and Armoury Crate crashing/displaying only a black screen ect. As far as the boot up issue most people found the solution was restarting the device.

I called the Asus service center, but they didn’t tell me much either. Now I’m not really sure what to do. Do you maybe have the latest graphics drivers? And do you think the problem is related to the hardware rather than the software?

I would assume it's software related as multiple people had the issue immediately after updating. I haven't heard anyone having issues with the frame rate dropping though so Im not sure if that is also the cause for that or not.

If we’re talking about the frame drops, I most likely made a mistake — I think it’s the same as it was before, because I checked it after reinstalling the system. The only remaining issue is the colored stripes on the startup screen, but I think that if many people had the same problem after the update, then it’s not a hardware issue, especially since the hardware is practically new.
