Doing a cloud recovery on new Ally X and getting “explorer.exe - application error” messages

Hey, I’m doing a cloud recovery on an Ally X right now and this error keeps popping up during the process when windows is restarting and doing its thing.

“The instruction at 0x00007FFA7C703ACA referenced memory at 0x0000000000000024. The memory could not be written.”

Any idea if it’s an issue or not? I haven’t seen it happen at any time when I was doing a cloud recovery on the OG Ally. I’ve done tons of cloud recovery’s on multiple OG Ally’s over the last year and never saw that error message once during the process.

Never saw this error before up to now on my new Ally X. Has anyone noticed this happening on their Ally X during the cloud recovery process? I thought it might have been something up with the new SSD that I was putting into it, so I popped the stock 1TB drive back in and did the cloud recovery on that again, and I’m still getting the memory error message.

I’m wondering have I got a dud X, is it worth exchanging for another? Can anyone from Asus look into this?

Hi @Anbby_ROG would you be able to contact me about getting this Ally X cloud restore issue looked into. And along with that, I need to reopen the case about the buzzy vibration issue that I was dealing with you over the last few months on the original Ally.
I know that there was a MCU 318 update released recently that was supposed to fix that issue, but I’ve just been playing one of those games that used to trigger it on my regular Ally and it seems like the same loud buzzy vibration issue has returned again and triggered by the same game.

That’s two issues I need to report to you now to get looked into. Can you drop me a message when you get a chance.

Thanks

This also happens to me any answers for this ?

Since I originally posted about this a few weeks ago I found a video on YouTube where a guy is swapping the SSD on his Ally X and mentions the same thing happening.
In the video he mentions it at the 11:36 mark and then shows the on screen memory error message at the 11:56 mark.

There’s also a few people on Reddit and Discord that have mentioned this happing too when they were doing the cloud recovery process on their Ally X, so it seems to be something going on that’s causing it. It never happened at all anytime I did a cloud recovery on the OG Ally.

As far as I know Asus are currently looking into it and seeing what’s up. I’ve already let them know about it and hopefully they can fix it soon.

Exactly as soon I install  my new SSD after some games it reboots to blue screen

So how do we know this will be fix ?
