So i install a 2TB ssd into my Ally. Then i proceed to cloud reovery as per instructions from ROG.

Then it asks me to input password and there is no keyboard on screen and plugging one in results in nothing. It's like the keyboard isn't even plugged in.

HELP!!!

This worked for me, maybe it will work for you:

I received the digital keyboard while in the BIOS menu, but when it came to the cloud recovery part afterwards, I too was unable to get a keyboard to work.  After I tapped "back" and "cancel", it automatically tried to connect to the internet again--which worked for some reason...maybe it pulled the info previously used for the BIOS?--and it started the cloud recovery process.

Try with an external wired keyboard, i had the same problem and it worked for typing in the password

They tried that:
"...and plugging one in results in nothing. It's like the keyboard isn't even plugged in."

What isn't mentioned is whether it was plugged it in before or after turning the device on, which may make a difference.
