Can’t get Dolby Atmos or Surround sound when docked with official gaming charger dock.

When I docked my Ally with the official gaming charger dock, I can’t set the speakers to surround sound. Only option Windows gives me under sound configuration is Stereo.

But when I had it connected to my Agara dock (aftermarket MacBook dock) it worked fine, with Dolby Atmos for Home Theater.

I have it connected to my TV which runs an eARC to my Sonos Arc which is paired with 2 additional speakers. Am I doing something wrong or it is an issue ?

Hi @Zephirick ,

I'd like to confirm with you if your BIOS version has been updated to the latest version 323.
Could you please assist in verifying if your Dolby Atmos driver is version V3.30508.581.2 and try uninstalling and reinstalling the "Realtek Audio Device Management Application" to test?

If the above steps don't resolve this issue, could you provide a photo demonstration of your connection setup and the screen when using the official dock/Agara dock? This will help us better understand your problem. Thank you.

Due to the regional holidays, my responses may be slightly delayed.
Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding 🙂

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, the bios was to the latest version (323) and the Dolby Atmos drivers was to the version V3.30508.581.2.

I even did a complete reinstallation via the cloud recovery (the third since I have the Rog Ally).

I had other issues with this product and I decicded to return it to the store for refund.
Since I've got the Rog Ally, I feel like I paid 799€ just to be a beta tester.

And with this new surround sound problem, I decided to stop.

Best regards
