Hello community,
Can you tell me if you too have a problem with your ASUS Rampage VI Extreme to install a graphics card in the first PCIe slot (PCIE_X16/X8_1), the backplate of the graphics card touches the plastic cover?
I think this is a general design issue?
The second PCIe port is only in x8 not cool... The motherboard does not boot if you install the graphics card on the fourth PCIe port (the only one in x16)...
Here are photos with a 1080Ti, I cut the back plate because I had an SLI so I had to install the first graphics card on the first PCIe port!
I have this material for several years, but having found a solution by myself I had never talked about it before!

When you choose the huge graphics card install on first slot. Kindly insert small paper or some soft rubber before installing the card. It will protect both motherboard 's PCIe x16/x8 slot and GPU PCIe contact very good.
Carefully installing the card and card holders stand to finish a job.

It can be install the same method too. But make sure your case space support long GPU card.
My old case Corsair Carbide 540 can't fit with RTX 4090 many models. So I'd switch to LianLi 011 EVO ARGB.

No I bought one and tried, the back plate touches the plastic cover, an RTX 4090 Strix does not pass on a Rampage VI Extreme, I'm really surprised and shocked that the zotac passes...
