I'm testing on default settings, nothing is changed/overclocked. And as i remember, You have ''some'' OC there to 4.8 🙄

InSpectre.jpg

CPUSPECTRETESTA1.jpgNew OS kernel always optimized for new microcode already before release to public Insider Preview build.

To archive best performance your system must have up to date components.

System that used old microcode with vulnerable issues will cause OS security kernel running many background services to prevent attacking from hackers.

So It will consuming more system resources than the system which running lastest microcode that OS kernel optimized already.

The benchmark number speaking everything cleary.  😁😁😁😁😁

That's true 😀👍

If you have an OC and he is @stock, normal performance can be identical 🙂

Sorry for my english 😄

tistou77 he arcticle on intel https://community.intel.com/t5/Processors/Microcode-and-performance-Cascade-Lake-X/td-p/669498 again see how much cost perfomance on newer mc

Valid with microcodes from 4 years ago 🙂
I will also test the 0010 vs 3605, to see

Sorry for my english 😄

I wanted to test the 0010, but my OC on the ram does not work (Detect Memory)
I still tested by switching the RAM @3200, and I have around 200cb more (CB r15 and r20)
I don't want to bother with the OC (not touched for over 2 years lol), I'm going to stay with the new microcodes

When I have time, I will test the OC and the old microcode

PS: I had forgotten that with the old microcode, I had cores "cooler" than the water temperature 🤣 🤣

Same here, i can't boot even 3600 on memory with 0010 microcode, which works fine on on the newest one.
