Rampage VI Extreme - No Post

Hi,

Just running into a brick wall on this,

Rampage VI Extreme and Intel 7940x CPU, motherboard when powered up lights up for a second or so then just turns off again.

Tried using three different PSUs to ensure its not a PSU issue, checked both inside and outside of a case, but getting same response each time.

Check CPU socket and board under a microscope, can see no issues with bent CPU pins and no damage to board.

Memory is a 32GB Corsair kit, correctly slotted in relevant slots.

Tried with cooler and GFX card hooked up and also just as bare board with CPU and memory only.

Same result every time.

Any other suggestions I can try before I have to RMA the board and possibly the CPU?

Well, decided to just RMA it and purchase a new one from a different supplier since Amazon offered a full refund without any questions.

Glad you can find another retailer, no one else is have that luck in the US anyway.
What codes did you get on the display?
Did you update the BIOS to at least 0802 before trying to power it up?
Did you try safe memory or safe boot?
Did you check the positions of the switches that none are on and the dip switches for PCIE slots are on.

I had the same issue initially. PCIE switches were off and the show stopper, the pause switch was on. My guess is you returned a perfectly good MOBO that just needed to be configured correctly.

Checked all switches, all were set correctly, you didn't even get a Q code, hit the power switch you would literally get a quick flash of all the lights on the board (the ROG logo and backlights) then they would go out

New board arrived, booted first time of asking, so definitely looks like first board dead.

Well now the fun of reinstalling all the windows etc...
