Rampage VI Extreme Encore and 8 pin

Hello

By mounting the R6EE, I had recovered an 8pin from the R6E and added another 8 pin
And I forgot to plug the 8pin (coming from the R6E) on the PSU

I plug it in, and after the double boot, I have the message "Check CPU" on the OLED... I had a bit of a strain... 😞
I turn off the PC, unplug this 8 pin, plug in the 6pin instead and it's good

I checked that the 8pin of the R6E was "wired" the same as the R6EE (to be sure) and of course it's the same

What could this be due to ?

Thanks 😉

PS: I did not try to reconnect it and I will try with 8 original pins (the one I have is "sleeved")
Sorry for my english 😄

In fact it was not related to the cable, I had another "Check CPU" (1 time) 😄

What is this error ?

Thanks

it is always delicate a connection error at the first start.
From the first start of my card I connected the 2 8 pins dedicated to the cpu. I never had any startup problems.
For the oc I use the AI Overcloking and the xmp for the memories and I have no problems. My cpu is at 4.6 ghz every day with a custom EK cooling, I could set it to 4.8 for daily use but 4.6 ghz is enough for me. My cpu can be easily oc to 5.0 and above.
I do not use manual overcloking because I lack knowledge.
I hope you came across a card that was shipped from the factory and was not tampered with and sold.
As a Frenchman I recommend LDLC to buy.
