RAMPAGE VI EXTREME BIO'S 1704 Freezing / Lock-UP'S Random/ Wont let me XMP

BIO'S 1704 Freezing / Lock-UP'S Random/ Wont let me XMP or manual timings/ everything default and tried CMOS.

Good start up but I run Prime95 and system will lock up random.

Was ok before (think it was 1604 and 1503) but with 1704 I now get random lock ups.

Ran Prime95 (blended which is heavy on RAM) and OMG that really provoked the whole thing. Aborted the test almost immediately across all cores (results completely off).

So I played around with the RAM settings a bit and backed it down to non XMS:
JEDEC#1 : 1066MHz, 15, 15, 15, 26, BUT set the voltage for all channels to 1.35V (same as for the XMP setting)

And now it seams to be more stable again - no lock ups so far. Tried Prime95 blended for a while and I no longer get the massive failures I got before. Seams to be more stable but will run it a bity more to be sure...


Will try to top run for a few more days before I'll say it is stable again.

Yeah something happened with 1704.


I am unable to go back to any of my previous bioses I am currently using 1704 and I had a system freeze issue . everytime I try to change my bios using ezflash I get a message saying please select the proper file but this is directly from the asus website I have it saved in fat32 format. Update I forced bios 2 to boot and used bios flashback that fixed the issue now it loads up just fine after loading 1603 bios

Can you explain what you did to revert back to the older bios version? I am on 1704 and trying to go back to 1503, but EZ Flash keeps saying invalid BIOS.

If you force bios 2 to boot how did you load the old bios back on bios 1??

Does anybody have a 1603 BIOS file for the Rampage VI Extreme board they could post somewhere or send to me? It was the most stable BIOS file I ever used and I stupidly updated to 1704 and we all know that BIOS is borked to hell & back and ASUS has removed it from their site. Currently stuck on 1503 and I can't get my Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB DDR4 3600mhz 128GB kit to run at 3600mhz on 1503. It only goes to 3200mhz. So any help would be appreciated as I cannot find a 1603 BIOS file anywhere...

Ok I flashed to 1902 using flashback and had nothing but random lock ups so I went back to 1503 with no issue. I have also been reading the Bios mod page were tistou77 mods bios so just as a test I flashed the modded bios which went well and everything was good for 2 hours and then boom system lockup again. Then after a conversation with tistou77 he jogged my memory about another motherboard I had some years ago were you had to up the system agent voltage to run overclocked memory. so I have upped from stock voltage 0.82000 to 0.86000 and after 5 hours I've had no lock ups. Maybe its as simple as this to stop the random lock ups

Think standard system agent voltage is 0.900v

ThrashZone is right:

CPU VCCIO Voltage: 1,000v
CPU System Agent Voltage: 0,900v

I noticed that on AUTO the board gives slight below this voltages.
Normally Asus will give 1,2xv ^^
