R6EO Instability

Still having stability issues with bios 0504. I had installed windows with 0218 with no problems at all. CPU is by SL. I keep getting problems on cold boot. I had BD memory error 2 days ago and changed the Uncore voltage from auto to 0.200 and it crashed without getting to windows. Decreased Uncore to 0.100 and it went through Memtest 400% with no errors and, more importantly, it did not crash. I had already tested the memory outside windows with no errors. On cold boot this morning, I had another crash with Uncore at 0.100V. Machine came back up with "memory is OK, press F1 to save memory settings." I decreased Uncore to 0.050V.

Where to go from here? As I said, I installed windows with 0218 bios version and no problems.

I can say my board is completly stable with the 0504 bios. My system is all water cooled with seprate loops for video cards and cpu. Mine is overclocked i9-7980XE @ 4958 all cores and DDR4 4000 Ram oc'd to 4132. My bios settings are AI OC Tuner = XMP CPU Strap=100 BCLK Frequency = 103.3000 CPU Core Ration= Sync all @48 TPU = TPU II CPU Core Voltage= 1.4000 CPU Input Voltage = 2.000 DRAM Voltag = 1.440 I ran these same settings on my Rampage VI Extreme Apex for over a year with no issues.

Thanks. *

... and is it behaving better?

It's usually a problem on cold boot first thing in the morning. I will need to test it a few days.

I misread your post. I backed it to 1.375V and the bios increased it to 1.380V. I thought I would try this and see.

…. just as you said. I set it back to 1.380V and I do see 1.400+V.

just FYI - 1.4V is not an issue at all for DDR4 or the CPU IMC on that 99xx generation chip. VDIMM is not going to affect the DIMM durability. In reality, VDIMM is set by Intel in accord with the CPU IMC specifications. Ram manufacturers are putting out DDR4 sticks aith XMPs at and above 1.45V for DDR4...

Thanks. That's reassuring.

Hi,
Use hwinfo
Memory not on load in bios but it should show pretty much the same after load as max.
It has a stand alone no installer just unblock and extract all and create a shortcut to desktop.

Hi,
Sensors only on the popup message
Sorry if you already have a way to monitor this stuff in the os
This is about the easiest display I've run across and pretty accurate
Input voltage/ vccin will knock your socks off if left on auto 😄
