Hello everyone just had a question here just wanted som other thoughts on it.

On the Rampage VI Extreme motherboard; does the M2 slot under the rgb cover only use pch or does it use cpu lanes?

Im using a 960 pro 512gb and have it under the cover but wondering if I should put it on the dim.2 and set it to use cpu lanes

is there a noticeable difference in speed from pch->cpu

right now im getting 3,299 read and 1,964 write

M.2 Slot under RGB cover use PCH PCIE 3.0 lane not CPU lane (According to manual). As far as I know if you don't enable raid array volumn on your system.
The performance gap between single SSD on DIMM.2 and PCH M.2 on AHCI mode were little bit.

Will performance of the dimm.2 single drive be the same as on an asus hyper x16 pci card?

Aside from not being able to boot from the HyperX16, any performance differences will be negligible.

I run a HyperX16 with 4 2TB 960 Pro's for data and a 1TB 960 Pro on the Dimm.2 PCH for booting. This way I don't have to use any slower Sata SSD drives.
