I think we knew this from your earlier post, or am I missing something? https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?123681-Long-lived-LGA-2066
In any case, Sapphire Rapids i9 XE on a PCIe 5.0, DDR5 platform is the one to wait for - I assume it is coming in 2022. 10980XE on a R6EE is still great!
Yeah if I change up that's what I will hold out for. PCIE 5.0 and DDR5. We will see what the furture brings. May not matter if China keeps hoarding all the silicon. The shortage is a sham. I have it from an inside source that Ill leave out of it that wafers are collecting dust to keep global prices up. Political games, tech is getting worse than oil which we have already seen and heard that nonsense. Ive seen the geological surveys and the Siberian portion of Russia has more untapped oil reserves than all OPEC nations did before Jed clampet went shootin for some food and up through the ground came bubbling crude. There is a well in Tengiz Kazakhstan that is capped off because when the pipeline was done and it went into production it ran 3 days, crude prices plummeted and OPEC pays them to keep a lid on it. That well will pump under its own pressure without having to extract it for 50 years non stop and another 50 pumping it out and maybe more. I worked on the fiber backbone, UPS systems and SCADA down that pipeline for just over a year with a valve station every 10kM and every river crossing. So much pressure coming from the well there are only two pump stations on a 1500kM pipeline.
But we are running out of oil.......big eyeroll!!
