However for easier way we should use microcode data base files distributed by Sonix/Fernaldo/Plutomaniac.:o

Can you guys point me in the direction of a guide for updating to 4D microcode? I downloaded a modified .cap from these forums for 1401 but my BIOS wouldn’t read it (said it was not compatible or something.) I’m having some pretty serious BIOS related issues I think may be microcode related. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, because of my current system corruption the USB Flashback with the button on the back of my MB does not work. When I try to read the Modified BIOS posted in this thread through the EZ Flashback Wizard it reports the error "this not authentic BIOS" or something similar. I really think my issue is microcode related so I would like to find a way to upgrade the microcode. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have been having trouble with the Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool as well. The version .27 would green screen on me as soon as I would launch it. Then the new version came out and no green screen but it doesn't start the program. It just flashes and doesn't come up. My processor and memory are both good. 8 hours of Prime95 with zero errors and 6 hours of Memtest with no errors. Also Cinebench and Passmark come out good. Not sure what is going on but it may be the beta builds of Windows 10 that I use from the Insider program.

The Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool 4.1.0.27 and 4.1.0.28 used both FMA-512 bit units on your processor.
Thus some tests temperature may rising high especially FMA3 / AVX 256 / AVX 512 modules.
Sound like it will burn out your Skylake X SKUs but it safe to diagnostic.
