1. the ASmedia controler chip on the Encoe verion is 3142? (i would no like to unsrew no the cooler from the board to check) 😮
2. Is it also possible tu use under Win10?
Is it correct to use the tool like this , because the manual say only DOS mode , but your screenshoot shows win11.
1: Start the ASM3142_MPTool.exe,
2: Type the ultra top level hight securety password in,
3: Check "Firmware Upgrade Enable" And Check "Firmware Check Enable"
4: Click on Firmware Browser and select :210330_70_02_40.bin,
5: Then Click "Frimware Upgrade" ? or "Start" ?
I didnt do that before , so maybe i ask before i do something wrong 😉 i dont want to breack the board ....
With friendly Greetings

It seems to me that the firmware version determines the date of its creation, e.g. 210330 is March 30, 2021.
Station-Drivers probably lists dates when Firmware was released/dumped (not created).
For example, I have a much newer firmware for devices with the ASM3142 chip, dated December 2021, 22.
Do you know how to dump this firmware to a file?

Hey,
Did you figured out how to dump the firmware? Seems you have newer version. In MPTool at the bottom there is button called Create new file. Maybe it is how to save firmware file from device?

Hi,
I read that if you make a firmware dump, you need to erase some data in it, otherwise you will brick your USB controller. Currently, I don't even have a tool that would allow me to save the current firmware.
