Do you have the MyAsus application installed ?
It is the reason for these updates.

i do not. is there another explanation?

The MyAsus application has a high priority on the system, so it can impose certain actions on the system, even such as updating the BIOS.

hi bogus, i just said i dont have the myAsus application installed

Has the BIOS been updated from a previous build, though? Or did you simply see this message?

Getting this message unprompted can be a sign of system instability.

hi silent_scone. i do not remember what the previous bios build version was as i didnt keep a record. however i did update the bios just a few months ago. is it your opinion that it was simply some run of the mill system instability that caused this message in error? and that no actual update occurred?

If you haven’t attempted to update the BIOS, yes. Improper shutdown or memory / CPU instability can instigate the message.
