Hello

I propose this topic to group the bios modded, it will avoid the interested person to seek the link 🙂

A feedback or thanks (or thanks boutton) is always nice (and I do not like leechers) 😄 😄

Running 3404 BIOS mod with latest microcode and oprom updates for a couple of weeks now on my APEX, no issues at all, rock stable. I can even run my 7920x 46xac via BCLK@101.5, Mesh @3249Mhz/1.259V, VCCSA@1.0V, VCCIO@1.168V, VTT@1.176V (HWinfo), RipjawsV 3600 4x8Gb @1.45v 4060-16-17-16 34T 320T 1T (Sams B-die) without L3 cache issues. Seem to be better performance with latest mc + Vroc performance gain.

please find linked 2x 3404 bioses with latest rst and vroc option roms and efi driver updates, incl. Intel lan update

one bios has latest microcode and the other one comes with asus 3404 origin microcode.

If someone wants to mod bios himself, then go to the winraid forum and look for ubu tool. Itã‚â´s everything there with en easy "how to do" tutorial.

Bios link: https://1drv.ms/u/s!allh8a0ndg1wgzocc0nvpmur4qts1q?e=pmazdy

you must use asus usb flashback with a compatible fat32 usb stick to flash a bios. Asus ez flash utility does not work.
And as allways: !!!!!"use at your own risk"!!!!!

thx

Do you mean 1004 or 0401? 0401 is from November or 2019. I can deal with some of the negatives for the new attributes like rebar.
MZ790A Bios 2002, GSkill F5-8000J3848H16GX2-TZRK, 13900KS, EKWB D5 TBE 300, Seasonic Prime TX-1600 ATX 3.0, Asus Strix 4090 w/ Optimus block, Phanteks Enthoo Elite, Asus Claymore 2, Asus Gladius 3, Asus XG349C, Samsung 990, Windows 11 Pro

I mean exactly 0401 of 2019/11/04. It works fine. No double start.

I have used 0401 but have updated the bios as new versions have come out.

Was that the point of the updates? Has something improved?

There’s the typical “improve system stability or something like that and memory compatibility. The typical response when troubleshooting something else is “do you have the latest bios for your motherboard. I have seen various compatibility issues solved with a bios update occasionally. 1004 for the encore board has rebar support which is beneficial in some games. Stuff like that. The flip side is the change may cause stability problems you weren’t having with the baseline bios. Different bios, voltages may be different. Some say if it ain’t broke.....

Look like 020006B06 fixing L3 cache behavior. On 02006B05 microcode DATE 2021-01-25 sometime on AIDA64 testing under Windows 10 21382.1.
I'd notice L3 cache bandwidth performance lower than 100GB/sec both write and copy. On read side L3 cache of 02006B05 sometime fell a half.
