Hello

I propose this topic to group the bios modded, it will avoid the interested person to seek the link 🙂

A feedback or thanks (or thanks boutton) is always nice (and I do not like leechers) 😄 😄

For some reason the Microcode 05003006 (bios 0901) that I just installed heats up my 10940x which is OC'ed to 4.8.
Could be the weather but my max temperature is 89 in core 3 at 60% usage.

Aside from that, all the modules are up to date on my Rampage encore.
Thank you restsugavan .

If the TJMax is the same, the heating must come from another side 😉

and even more new uCodes this time for 79x0XE only (not 99x0XE or 109x0 XE).

This is really recent uCode from Jan 15th 2021. Also, judging from the revision number, uCode 6B05 is a big revision step up from previous 6A0A (0x6B05 - 0x6A0A = 0xFB = 191 build version increments).
should be worth while to test.

ASUS Intel Core-X ROG Rampage VI EXTREME ENCORE X299 cold boot restart ISSUE

Hello,

I am using...

Intel Core i9 - 10980XE
ROG RAMPAGE VI EXTREME ENCORE
128GB (16GBx8) Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32GB 4000 MHz @ 3200 - DDR4 Dual Channel Memory Kit - CMT32GX4M2K4000C19

non QVL I think

More info...

1. From cold boot Q Code LCD counts to "CPU 3B" and suddenly reboots (Soft or Hard reboot ?) into a 2nd successful boot sequence

2. Started happening after 0401 bios

3. Appears to be bad firmwares/flash since 0401, as flashing back to 0401 and earlier
does not fix the problem.

Regards,

biozzz

Support!!!

Where's Shamino?
I supply power to the system unit. I'm turning it on. Seconds 4-5 pass, the system unit is turned off and after 1 second it starts again on its own. If the system unit is not de-energized, the next start will be normal.
I don't like it. By browsing through all versions of the bios remained on 0401, everything works perfectly on it without double starts.

My system:
Motherboard: ROG RAMPAGE VI EXTREME ENCORE
Processor: Intel Core i9 - 10980XE BOX
RAM: DDR4 3200MHz Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO (CMW16GX4M2C3200C14) 4 * 8Gb = 32Gb ver.4.31

Sorry for my English

Hi Dennys,

First you need to relax before you try to do any troubleshooting, you need a calm mind for this things.

I have read your post and I believe it's a problem with your RAM because your boad POST ok but that is not the way it should.

I would suggest to flash this bios : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kGPNVy4B_-DLtYOBzDWJ-BEE-P7nXYA0/view using the asus bios flasback and if the issue remains are you able to test it out with a different ram just in case?

I think your RAM is part of the current QVL (Quality vender list) which means that ASUS has tested your ram modules and they are compatible.
Work the issue from the bottom all the way to the top.

Let us know how it goes.

Good luck.

Wait!
1. My memory works perfectly on the R6EE with BIOS 0401 and does not work since version 0504 - 0901.
2. My RAM stood in the board R6E in up to BIOS 3006 everything was fine (then switched to the board R6EE) But, somewhere on the forum they wrote that a double start of the system appeared from BIOS 3105.
3. I tried to run the system with RAM:
CMK8GX4M2A2666C16 ver.3.21
CMK4GX4M1A2400C14 ver.3.21
set only one bar, the default memory values. Same double start.
4. Why when 1.35 V. memory voltage is set, DIMM AB shows 1.37 V., and DIMM CD shows 1.35 V. These parameters are the same on BIOS version 0901. This problem was also reported by users on this forum. The board R6EE also but the RAM people are different.
5. I am not the first to write about this problem in this forum. The people tried various memory kits, including from the list of tested ASUS for the R6EE board. The problem of a double start does not go away.

Let at least one board owner R6EE recall that his system starts without a double start after supplying power to the system unit and what RAM is worth it.

I am 100% sure that the problem is not in RAM, but in the curve of BIOS.

The issue is with the BIOS, not sure why someone is bringing up RAM. The RAM has nothing to do with it.

Installed your recommended BIOS 0901. I'm attaching a video report. The video begins when the computer is first started after the BIOS is installed.
I'm cursing at the vertical. But the main moments of starting the computer are visible and the voltages of the memory channels are shown.https://radikal.ru/video/z8JatRP8zti
