I thought there is even a newer uCode for Skylake 654? yes/No? I think: cpu50654_platB7_ver02007108_2023-07-23_PRD_FE927D02 is the latest... I think the one intel lists in you post from intels official site, ver2007006 is from last year (published in July 2023?)...

The question I would like to know the answer to is if the revised uCode 2007108 (pulished in April 2024) has recovered the lost performance for scatter and gather.

Remember, the Downfall patches from March 2023/published in August 2023 made Skylake, Cascadelake and others drop 30% in performance in certain scatter/gather scenarios. These were the first Downfall patches:
- Intel cpu50657_platBF_ver05003604_2023-03-17_PRD_E44A0B2A. (published July 2023)
- Intel cpu50654_platB7_ver02007006_2023-03-06_PRD_CC65C865. (published July 2023)
These were, imo, only quick fixes to block the Downfall issue with no regards to performance loss (bit of a panic fix)...

I hope both the Cascadelake and Skylake "new" uCodes publiched in January 2024 (657) and April 2024 (654):

cpu50657_platBF_ver05003605_2023-07-28_PRD_7F88A78A
cpu50654_platB7_ver02007108_2023-07-23_PRD_FE927D02

have fixed the performance issues that the first Downfall patches introduced so that we are now back to original scatter/gather performance... (remember these were the first test that set off the alarms:https://www.phoronix.com/review/intel-downfall-benchmarks
Has anyone tested to see if the resent uCodes restore some of the lost performance?
