Plus another question. Using only NVMe single drive. Are the SATA drivers even necessary??

Running 3 NVME here. When I finished the transition to NVME I simply turned off the Sata ports in bios. No ports, faster post, no driver loading.

Can't speak for the Rampage motherboards. But I didn't need to install the two drivers you mentioned on my Strix X299 when I installed Windows 10.

I had to manually install the asmedia drivers though the device manager, the windows drivers gave be issues with speeds and connectability, the intel drivers I'm not to sure about.

I've had no issues with these with any of my USB 3.0 drives.

OK, but they are sitting out there on the download page. Thought it was needed. ?? Thanks Chino.

Yea. Decided to install the driver in case I add something later, but that’s a good idea. Thanks.*

I had the same issue with driver does not support this OS
the zip file has Win7 written on it!!!
And I cannot get ANY usb port to read any portable drives !!
Any clues on how to fix this ?!

You can install USB 3.1 driver from Asus by running Windows device manager and manually updating the driver for "ASMedia USB3.1 eXtensible Host Controller". Choose to search for the driver and point to "Driver_Win10" folder from the Asus package.
Intel driver is still no go though.

I contacted ASUS support
They said sorry but the driver appears to be the win7 version . We have uplaoded new one .. Please wait 24 hours for it to upload to server
I waited.. Downloaded new version from Rampage support page. SAME DEAL. This driver does not support this OS !!

I had even reinstalled windows in the hope that it may be intial install. Still no fixes

Tried both the upper and lower USB 3.1 connection on board.. NEither worked.

Asus emailed me after I pointed out this still did not work. They have recommended sending the board back .. grrrrrrrrrr
