Hello everyone
TODAY I HAVE A BIG PROBLEM just 1 hour ago i was in BIOS#1 and i was changing one of my overclock settings and SO WERIDLY 😮 SUDDENLY the bios freezed ( no matter repluging keyboard or mouse wasnt the issue ) and i had to restart the pc and after i just restarted the pc it gave me error Qcode 53 [with Dram Alarm beeps] at the start of the debugger AND then i tried SAFE BOOT BUTTON and it stiill didnt boot and gave the same error and after that i cleared CMOS 100 times and it didnt work THEN i decided to Do FLASHBACK BIOS i have 2 Sticks of usb one is usb 3 and one is usb 2 the usb 3 is GPT-FAT32 the usb 2 is MBR-FAT32 i copied the BIOS 1401 with the file name of R6A.CAP into the USBs BUT no matter how many times i try the flashback bios it Doesnt work at all the FLASHBACK BIOS LED Light turns solid Blue and wont continue Blinking after i release my finger from the key this means that the BIOS Flashback is not operating it Only Blinks at the first 3-4 seconds of pushing the button it doesnt flashbacking the bios from usb and isnt installing any bios (i dont know if it doesnt read from usb or WHAT ) no matter how hard i try i have copied all bios versions with the filename:R6A.CAP or even R6A alone without ".CAP" my flashback bios WONT do anything guyss please someone help i had this issue before on my asus ramoage v edition 10 Too exactlly the same issue i cant believe its just 4 days i have assembled the system and everything was working Fine now suddenly this s-h-it hapened, IS THE BIOS#1 Corrupted in real time when i was in bios ?is it gone?how can i bring it back ??THE BIOS FLASHBACK of ASUS NEVER WORKED FOR ME I EVEN also did Clear BAT (removed motherboard battery) and it still didnt work (
PS:i CAN boot with my BIOS#2 and it Boots up without any single issue very well and Works Perfectlly no issue there with BIOS#2 (bios2 version:0601)
so it means that MY DRAMS MY CPU AND THE WHOLE HARDWARE SIDE HAVE NO ISSUE and its just the BIOS issue which seems its corrupted or broked and i jus want to FLASHBACK BIOS for it. and HEY I DID TRY BIOSFLASHBACK ON BIOS#2 TO CHECK IF BIOSFLASHBACK WORKS FOR MY Motherboard AT ALL OR NOT!! and weirdly it didnt work on the healthy bios#2 as well as i tried once.

Motherboard: RAMPAGE VI APEX (BIOS #1:1503 - BIOS#2:0601)
CPU:7820x
RAM:4x8 GB tridentZ f43600-Cl16

I haven't looked in the BIOS for the feature but once upon a time you could copy one to the other, it was somewhere in the same section as where you can save it.
If BIOS 2 works but the flashback works on neither either the USB, its format, the file name or most commonly made mistake.......stick not in the USB port labeled bios.
Also make sure all other ports have nothing plugged into them.
When in BIOS 2 did you pull up the EZ flash and look for the BIOS image from there? You dont have to flash it to look. Before you even look at the file you will have to select the source. If the source isnt shown then its not seeing the USB device. Always best to use smaller sticks too, 8GB or less.

hi Dear JustinThyme very Appreciate and thanks for your Reply, YES Sadly once upon a time people could copy BIOS 1 to 2 and BIOS 2 to 1 and THE GREAT KING ASROCK MOTHERBOARDS have had all these Benefits and features but WEIRDLLY ASUS Motherboards with all that "WE ARE THE BEST" Allegation have the Freaking buggy freezyy corrupty bioses even in latest updates and they dont have Mechanical Switch on the board for switching between bioses which allows people to copy/paste bioses even with manual mechanical key on the board as the asrock has both options within its bios as Well:|-but asus boards even Worst they are digital switch and Soldered chip WTTHH : O......
i see you have the Extreme version rampage vi extreme so our bios options must be the same i only see one option in the TOOL tab of bios#2 names as asus flashback but its not for Copying the bioses to eachother Its just an option to allow you to switch between bioses to prevent you from pushing the assigned switch key on the motherboard itself, and YES i see the BIOS FILE in the EZ flash utility in the BIOS#2 and it can see the USB devices as i have updated my BIOS#1 before when it was alive through these usbs too ,i will try unplugging everything as u mentioned and will try smaller sticks too HOPE THAT SOLVES THE ISSUE :C

Try this with your USB drive if copy BIOS doesn't work

https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?78620-X79-DELUXE-Bricked-after-USB-BIOS-Flashback&p=549397...

When you cleared CMOS was the board fully disconnected...i.e PSU power off?

Hi dear Arne Saknussemm thanks for your reply, what do you mean by "copy bios"?u mean the bios flashback right ?
Actually i didnt Disconnect the power when i cleared CMOS or when was trying BIOS FLASHBACK i didnt turned off the power supply JUST SHUT DOWNED THE SYSTEM
so you mean i should turn off the psu completely when Clear CMOS or BIOS FLSHBACK ?
and hey i checked your post at the link you sent and in that instruction you want to make the usb ACTIVE right ?i mean a mbr usb? , and also by pendrive you mean usb stick right ?
one of the usb sticks that i have is a 16GB usb 2 stick (in windows shows 14 GB) which i have converted it to mbr with a good software called EASEUS.Partition.Master
but it didnt work with that but i will try it through command prompt with a 4/8 GB usb stick

To clear CMOS, turn off PSU and wait for all lights to go out. Then press clear CMOS button for two seconds.

For BIOS flashback you must have the PSU connected and on (but PC off of course).

I didn't know you could not copy BIOS 2 to BIOS 1...they must have removed that for some reason.

Yes, pendrive is same as USB stick. Try the diskpart method on your USB.

Oh, and no Caipiriñas before the flash...only after 😉

Hi again all and Sorry for Late reply was a little busy
and shout out to you arne and justinThyme and the other Friends and great guys here Thank you For helping me during this to Solve the issue with Bios Flashback finally that day
i formated one of my usb2 sticks with that "diskpart commands" through cmd and Unplugged everything from IO tuned off the system Cleared CMOS turned off the psu and turned it on back again and put the usb into the BIOS flashback port hold it for 3 seconds and O MY GOD Finally in my life i could Bios Flashback successfuly on an asus rampage board and the flashback LED started to flashing and blinking and didnt go Solid and at the same time bios#1 yellow/orange LED on the board was Flashing too during the process and it took like 1minute and then it finished and the LED turned off i started the pc and Bam after 4 necessary restarts of the system my BIOS#1 did came back to life again ( i picked bios 1401 btw but i will change it to another version or latest one)

ps:i should add that i already tried formatting my usbs with some softwares but NON of them was as helpful as diskpart commands through cmd so if you had this issue you should go with cmd commands on this one and hey be aware of that " RUFUS " software which is used to make bootable usbs for windows installation it will RUIN your usb sticks for this bios flashback and many usb players. and yes the caiprinas was for the after:cool:;)and ofcourse BIOS 2 to BIOS 1 or BIOS 1 to BIOS 2 doesnt exist on asus side 😐 they should do something about it.

NOW im working on stablizing my 4x8GB F43600-CL16 modules on this Rampage VI APEX for 4000mhz 17-17-17 or 16-18-18 or 16-17-16 or 17-18-18 EVEN 18-18-18 18-19-19 for HCI MEMTEST 24/7 WHILE THE "CACHE "FEREQUENCY IS ALSO SET TO 3200 i still cant stablize it at that level i dont know if my RAMs (3600-CL16) are the issue or my CPU IMC and which one is limiting me but we know for sure that the 3200 cl 14 kits and 3600 cl 15 kits or 4133 Cl-17 kits have the best b-dies within better than my 3600-cl16 so any advise or suggestion on stablizing 4x8GB single sided 3600-cl16 for HCI MEMTEST 24/7 would be so much appreciated from dear friends and tell me about your case and what frequency and timing have you stabled your skylakeX+Rampage VI APEX for 24/7 (also im delieding the cpu 7820X this week so hopes that will help me)

this thread @overclock.net is a 24/7 memory stability thread which has skylakeX 32GB memtest stability Table also , i have set and tried all kindsof voltages like them but no goal 😞 https://www.overclock.net/forum/5-intel-cpus/1569364-official-intel-ddr4-24-7-memory-stability-threa...

Nice one! Glad it worked! 😄

I don't have that motherboard so can't really help on the RAM OCing...other than to suggest using the profiles in the BIOS as a starting point. Have you tried any of those?

Congratulations! It seemed strange to me that you were trying BIOS Flashback with a USB drive that was made bootable. Glad it worked with a simple (non-bootable) format using Diskpart, and it shows that your BIOS1 chip was not corrupted after all. That is great news considering these are surface mounted chips.

Arne is the copy BIOS A to BIOS B option gone?? Seriously?

Yeah, I had forgotten that...thinking about it that might have been gone from my RV10E...didn't make a comeback I see...still doesn't make sense to me but there it is...I kind of hope there is some engineering reason behind it...

I think I forgot that with the shock of finding my Zenith Extreme didn't have dual BIOS

Good engineering reason, lets hope so. Was a bloody handy feature for someone like me, and somebody like you mate. OC's as we were doing makes it very handy to have a fail safe just one flick of a toggle away.
