There are some old boards with a 6pin but in old ones is to feed the pciexpress slots when using multiple graphics cards.

ok be careful.
1. the 6 pin is a normal PCIe connector - confirmed.
2. the original user guide (paper) that comes with the board had the 6 pin connector illustrated as a ATX special 6 pin connector with reversed polarity compared to the PCIe 6 pin.
3. without much fanfare ASUS updated their user guide to Version E16039 in November! BUT DID NOT published it until April 10 wtf - look it up here: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/ROG-Rampage-VI-Extreme-Encore/HelpDesk_Manual/ and in this user guide they have corrected the page with the illustration to correctly show a 6 pin PCIe connector.
So the confusion was real and not fake, but the end result is that it is a PCIe 6 pin connector, and I can confirm that 100% since I use that daily for months!
I can also confirm that a 6 pin ATX special cable do not work MB and the if you install one the MB will not boot (got that one last year before they bothered to publish a new user guide)
