Asus prime x299 delux , USB and Wifi problem , votage drop , and other.

I’ll try to explain in sufficient detail a very annoying problem that, apparently, is not only mine and all delux motherboards suffer from it, and perhaps even everything on the x299 chipset and maybe not only x299.

From time to time there is a bug with USB, and this has been happening since the day of purchase 2017 year and on different x299 deluxes, so this is definitely not a defect in the motherboard.

no matter what version of Windows 10 or 11 it is the same on all builds, the BIOS is the latest. 4001

standard line voltage 5 volts 5.040 , but some times it how to 5.000 .

The mouse starts to go crazy, the buttons seem to be partially swapped and when you click the left button, properties open, the keyboard buttons stop working, only a complete reboot will help.

I'm almost sure that this is a BIOS problem, which has not yet been fixed and, apparently, is not going to be fixed.

This does not depend on the use of ports or the number of connected devices, the bug will appear randomly and unexpectedly, you can simply surf the Internet, compile something, or the system will be inactive. It can be uptime for a week and the bug does not occur, and then in a day it happens 2 times in a row.

Maybe someone managed to fix this problem?

The same applies to the Wi-Fi ( but it happen very very rarely ) , it may periodically fail to start and need go to device manage off and on it ... I am 100% sure that the problem is in the BIOS - UEFI. Most likely buggy modules/incorrect voltage calculation.

Look like you've used wireless mouse and keyboard like me ?

First X299 PCH had its USB 3.0 connection lane depending on CPU type. There are 48 Lane PCIe 3.0 ( Cascade Lake X ) 44 PCIe 3.0 (Skylake X & Refresh) and 28 PCIe 3.0 ( Kaby lake X ).

And ASUS installed ASMedia USB Controller to support USB 3.2 Gen 1 (10 Gbps) to enhance its X299 board over Intel 5 Gbps USB 3.1 by sharing bandwidth of X299 PCH .

If you don't want USB Controller speed sharing from X299. Connect your wireless mouse and keyboard signal receiver on Intel USB 3.0 port ( Must be " Blue" 💙 color ) instead ASMEDIA ( Red ♥️ color ).

It will solve your wireless mouse and keyboard responding easily.

On PSU voltage reporting between Windows and BIOS . They are not always accurate.

Let's Enjoy your X299 machine @mraksoll
