Asus AI Charge on Rampage VIE - USB Fast Charging - Working or gimmick?

Hi all,

I recently attempted to use AI Charger to enable fast USB charging and take advantage of the multitude of USB ports my Rampage VI Extreme has.

I have not AI Suite installed but I have installed the AI Charger programm and launching it manually. However, it does not seem to be working properly. It worked once with my iPad Air 2 and I think with my iPhone but not with a Xiaomi smartphone.

Now (after a reboot) it is not working with the iPad again - the usb ports work properly but the iPad is not charging.

Anyone using AI Charger successfully?

I believe this only works on the 3.1 Gen 2 ports, The Red type A and C port in back, and one on the MB for a front port.

I thought I had tried those too but I Just plugged the iPad on the Back Typ A port and it is working now. However, in the manual it says that Gen 1 front ports should work. Anyway, since I have a Type C port in the front of my case connected to the M/B header I might get an adapter A --> to C so I can use it for charging.

BTW, it is working without AI Suite installed which is great.
