If you buy a router and don’t know where to place it, maybe you should test the signal strength first and then make the decision. AR Signal Master can give you some suggestions. Here are some features of this app I’d like to highlight.

1. Wi-Fi Signal Measurement in AR
AR Signal Master can present the WiFi signal strength in AR technology on your iPhone. It gives you a realistic display of the testing results. You just need to open the AR mode, walk around in your living room, study-room or bedroom, then it can meter the signal strength and record it in the real world. As you can see from the picture below, the interface is clear and nice. If you want to know the signal strength of a certain point in your house, you can tap the “Plus” icon on the lower-right corner and then point your phone camera at that point, the result will be displayed at once. It’s easy to operate. With AR technology, you can see the result directly.

2. Wi-Fi Signal Heatmap
When you walk around in your house, all the signal strength will be recorded and shown in the heatmap. If you open the heatmap on the lower-left corner, you will find your moving track and the signal strength of the places that you have passed in your house. If you have tapped “Plus” icon and recorded the signal strength of a certain point before, there will be a blue flag in the heatmap. It facilitates you to make comparison between those flags which actually represent the Wi-Fi signal strength of those places in your house. This feature can help you find the best place with the strongest signal in your house and you can place your router there.

Btw, if you tap the “camera” icon, you can make a screenshot of the test page and save it in your phone. Then you can compare the signal strength in different places with the help of those screenshots. WiFi signal strength is represented as an RSSI value in dBm, the closer it is to zero, the stronger the signal is.
