Where is the XMP option in Maximus IX Hero bios?

Hi, I cant find the XMP profile in my bios



My system specs
1.Asus Maximus ix Hero
2.Intel Core i7 7700k
3.Gskill Ripjaws V 16 Gb(8X2) DDR4 2400MHz

Plz help me

Hello

You need memory rated for and programmed at a speed greater than default. There is no need for XMP settings with 2400MHz spec'd memory.

Does the sticker on the memory state plug and play? It should state Intel XMP 2.0 Ready.

Hello

The sticker is correct. XMP is for memory speeds greater than default speeds. 2400MHz is within the default speed range for the platform so is "plug n' play". No issue here.

Plug and Play memory do not have XMP profiles programmed into it.

I only asked if your memory was plug and play because your Target DRAM Frequency is 2400MHz. Plug and play memory does not have XMP profile loaded. Therefore, you only get 2400MHZ with AI Overclock Tuner choices for Auto or Manual.

However, if your memory is XMP 2.0 ready your Target DRAM Frequency should have defaulted to 2133MHz giving you AI Overclock Tuner choices for Auto, Manual, and XMP.

To keep it simple here's what I'd do, Intel recommends 1.50v max for DDR4.

Extreme Tweaker tab

AI overclock Tuner - Manual
Dram Frequency - start with 2600MHz
Dram voltage - 1.50v
CPU VCCIO voltage - 1.20v
CPU System Agent voltage - 1.20v
Click Dram Timing Control

At the very top enter in the three primary timings:

17
17
39
command rate 2N

F10 and Enter

If it's stable bump up the Dram Frequency 100MHz to 2700MHz, keep raising it 100MHz and see how far you can go, once you get freezing or a BSOD back it down 100MHz.

You might can hit 3000MHz, let us know how far you get. 🙂
