What Should Be in All Future Boards

This is what I would like to see you include on your future boards

AMD and Intel a like. Come bring me Kaveri support or a revamped AM3+ one at the very least.

1. Wireless Support on all Boards (wifi, nfc, bluetooth). Has to be all three, as all three are on my phone, tablet, and, headphones (sb evo)

2. Only USB 3.0, as 2.0 are outdated and still supported by 3.0, im sick of only getting 2 to 4 ports with the i/o on all boards.
3. At least two external sata

4. Atleast two firewire

5. Atleast one thunderbolt (for intel)

6. AI Cloud + AI VPN for ASUS router support

7. Built in 4 to 8gb ssd so you will always have access to drivers or roms to flash bios

8. Dual bios

9. PCI ex 3.0

10. All the current standards for ROG boards that arent outdated and that people use/like

Non product features
10. IRC for this dog show

If im gonna buy ROG as 200+ I want quality and quantity, not solely quality. A 300 dollar mobo will have the same i/o as a 100 dollar one has. Same number of USB ports, etc. No more is what I have to say.

ajKid93 - Welcome to ROG.

These are great suggestions but lets look at the facts. There is only so much real estate on a board. The
Extremes are gigantic now .. what you suggest in total would require perhaps a 15"x15" or
a new type of board, maybe double-sided .. lol. .c.

LOL, actually I would suggest a big reduction of the Extreme series... 😄

Those are for overclocking and benchmarking, so they do not need so many SATA ports - max 2 is way enough; absolutely no need of sound, bluetooth, wireless... also, no need for a secondary controller storage controller, FireWire, Thunderbolt...

Dual BIOS yes, it is very helpful! And for luxury I would maybe keep the network... maybe...

Again, this is for Extreme boards...

That would be cool .. a straight 'clockers' board .. but do you think there would be a big enough market as most are part timers ..
interesting though. .c.

NFC and Bluetooth are a waste, the signal is short..who really uses either bluetooth or NFC much anyway?

2. Only USB 3.0, as 2.0 are outdated and still supported by 3.0, im sick of only getting 2 to 4 ports with the i/o on all boards.

Why only USB 3? there aren't enough products that can soak up the bandwidth yet, until then USB 2 is gonna stay. And what 2 to 4 ports? my Rampage IV Formula has 10 USB ports all up, USB 2 AND 3...and that's just on the bloody I/O panel alone.
3. At least two external sata
Who uses ESATA anyway? ASMedia is slow and sucks.

4. Atleast two firewire
Does anyone outside of music enthusiasts use this? I mean guys who produce their own music.

5. Atleast one thunderbolt (for intel)
Why? the tech is still expensive as hell and there is barely anything on the Market anyway to use it. Oh and FYI, ASUS have just announced their Thunderbolt EX card http://rog.asus.com/280892013/news/asus-thunderboltex-ii-what-you-need-to-know/

6. AI Cloud + AI VPN for ASUS router support
These features are already on their Routers are they not?

7. Built in 4 to 8gb ssd so you will always have access to drivers or roms to flash bios
This is a silly idea. Most people have Flash drives with drivers, BIOSes etc, or Folders containing everything they need. This feature would be pointless and add an unnecessary expense to the already expensive product line.

8. Dual bios
Most boards(ROG) already have this, though, they should ensure it's on all of their boards...it's ridiculous to not have them on all boards.

9. PCI ex 3.0
Most boards already have all PCIe 3.0 with a couple extra x4 slot for PCIe SSD's, Soundcards etc.

10. All the current standards for ROG boards that arent outdated and that people use/like
Such as? you need to elaborate...this is too vague a statement.

Why do we need an Internet Relay Chat? this isn't the 90's ya know...and besides, this is what the Forums are for...pretty much.

Umm unless you've not looked at ANY ROG boards over the last 6+ years.....ALL of them have both QUALITY and QUANTITY....hell has there ever been a time there wasn't a ROG line that was released that didn't have both?

Me, I'd remove stuff too...I disable USB 3.0, AS media, sound, bluetooth anything not on the Intel chipset.

If I added something it would be Maple syrup! Can you imagine? Oh man...ROG OCing and gaming board with Maple syrup....I'd never leave the house!

I do like hotcakes lol. . .
Current: MSI Xpower Gaming Titanium | 7700K | G Skill Ripjaws V 3000 16Gb | 960 EVO 500Gb | Intel 730 480Gb | Seasonic 1000 Platinum |
NZXT X62 | Acer XB270HU | EVGA 1080 ti FTW3

Secondary: R4BE | 4930K | G.SKILL 2400 16GB | Corsair AX 1500i
Intel 730 240GB + 480GB | EVGA GTX780 ti sli kpe | Custom H20

LOL nice one Arne but maple syrup ????

So Asus should waterproof it, seriously. No more worries when watercooling or sealing it when using Ln2

I think that you have an exellent idea, Asrock does this sealer. Why not??

LOL, Arne, Maple FX - If it's detachable from the board, I promise that will send it to you! 😄
